Nordland (norsk)

Nordland er nok kanskje et av de mest Instagram-vennlige fylkene i Norge. Det er nemlig i Nordland du finner verdenskjente Lofoten. Men Nordland er et fylke med mye mer enn bare Lofoten. Det er et fylke med et sted på UNESCO sin verdensarvliste (og det er ikke Lofoten). Det er fylke polarsirkelen går gjennom. Og det er fylke med utrolig mye historie og vakker natur. 

Nordland er det tredje nordligste fylket i Norge. Det grenser til Troms i nord, Trøndelag i sør og Sverige i øst.  Sammen med Troms og Finnmark utgjør Nordland det vil kaller for Nord-Norge.

Nordland er det mest folkerike fylket i Nord-Norge. Det bor 240 000 i hele fylket, sirka like mange som bor i Troms og Finnmark til sammen.  De største byene i Nordland er  Bodø (42 000), Mo i Rana (19 000)  og Narvik (14 000). Administrasjonssenteret i Nordland er Bodø.

Akkurat som Troms, er Nordland kjent for sin utrolig vakre natur. Dere har sikkert hørt om Lofoten? Lofoten er en øyrekke som ligger nord i Nordland. Der kan du se flotte og spisse fjell og vakre sandstrender. Her kan du prøve å sørfe. Eller kanskje gå en tur til Reinebringen? Lofoten har blitt verdenskjent for sin vakre natur. 

Eller hva med å besøke verdensarvlistede Vegaøyan? De er på UNESCO sin verdensarvliste. Det er en gruppe øyer som ligger rett ved polarsirkelen. Det er kjent for sine små fiskelandsbyer og sitt rike fugleliv. 

Polarsirkelen går gjennom Nordland. Der kan du besøke Polarsirkelsenteret. Det er et senter som forteller om natur, fauna og historie fra polarområdene.

Et annet kult sted i Nordland er Saltstraumen. Det er faktisk verdens sterkeste malstrøm! En malstrøm er sterke strømmer i vannet som fører til at vannet går rundt i ring. Det ser litt ut som en virvelvind i vannet. Saltstraumen ligger rett ved Bodø, den største byen i Nordland. Saltstraumen tar med seg store mengder med næringsstoffer. Det gjør at det er et rikt dyreliv i området. 

Narvik er den tredje største byen i Nordland. Den er kjent for sin krigshistorie. Under andre verdenskrig da Norge ble angrepet og okkupert av Tyskland i 1940, foregikk de hardeste og mest blodige kampene i Narvik. Nesten hele byen lå i ruiner i 1940. 

Fylkesvåpenet til Nordland er en svart båt på gul bakgrunn.  Båten er den tradisjonelle nordlandsbåten. Den ble brukt i området helt siden vikingtida, altså over 1000 år siden. På vikingmuseet “Lofotr” i Lofoten kan du lære mer om vikingene i Nordland.

Nordland is perhaps one of the most Instagram-friendly counties in Norway. This is where you’ll find the world-renowned Lofoten. However, Nordland is a county with much more than just Lofoten. It is a county with a place on UNESCO’s World Heritage List (and it’s not Lofoten). It’s the county that the Arctic Circle passes through. And it’s a county with an incredible amount of history and beautiful nature.

Nordland is the third northernmost county in Norway. It borders Troms to the north, Trøndelag to the south, and Sweden to the east. Together with Troms and Finnmark, Nordland makes up what we call Northern Norway.

Nordland is the most populous county in Northern Norway. There are 240,000 people living in the entire county, approximately the same as in Troms and Finnmark combined. The largest cities in Nordland are Bodø (42,000), Mo i Rana (19,000), and Narvik (14,000). The administrative center in Nordland is Bodø.

Just like Troms, Nordland is known for its incredibly beautiful nature. You’ve probably heard of Lofoten, right? Lofoten is an archipelago located in the north of Nordland. There, you can see magnificent and pointed mountains and beautiful sandy beaches. You can try surfing here. Or maybe take a hike to Reinebringen? Lofoten has become world-famous for its beautiful nature.

Or how about visiting the UNESCO-listed Vega Islands? It is a group of islands located right on the Arctic Circle, known for its small fishing villages and rich bird life.

The Arctic Circle passes through Nordland. There, you can visit the Arctic Circle Centre, a center that tells about the nature, fauna, and history of the polar regions.

Another cool place in Nordland is Saltstraumen. It is actually the world’s strongest maelstrom! A maelstrom is strong currents in the water that cause the water to circulate in a ring. It looks a bit like a whirlwind in the water. Saltstraumen is located right by Bodø, the largest city in Nordland. Saltstraumen carries large amounts of nutrients, creating a rich wildlife in the area.

Narvik is the third-largest city in Nordland. It is known for its wartime history. During World War II, when Norway was attacked and occupied by Germany in 1940, the toughest and bloodiest battles took place in Narvik. Almost the entire city was in ruins in 1940.
