Very interesting discussion. Your comments regarding Norway immediately after WW2 and the “exceptional” laws and legal measures brought against those who collaborated with the Germans instantly made me think of this documentary that I recently watched on NRK. In the final episode, they touch on some of the things you discussed.

As an US citizen living abroad, it has been hard watching what is transpiring back home. Thankfully the courts are standing up when a major part of the legislature is not.
Its also very interesting to see people mentioning “exceptional” laws and legal measures brought against those who collaborated with nazi Germans and the disappointing and non existent measures that are taken nowadays against the people/companies/governments collaborating with Israel and its government. The distinction is obvious and the indifference and apathy of the people to push the governmental mechanisms is also obvious. Everything suddenly is normalised and hidden under the rug of modern day indifference. Times change…. and with that also values – the power of the people and the influence they have to their governments.
